TB in the HIV+ is from the HIV-

Aidsmap reports that TB infection in HIV-positive individuals is traced to TB in HIV-negative people, in South Africa. In other words, an Aids-defining illness is the result of TB infection; HIV is superfluous.

In the past and perhaps still now, HIV was blamed for the expression of Aids itself, without co-infection; that is that HIV caused TB, not only TB mycobacterium. But if the diseases defined as Aids aren’t unique to being HIV+, is there any good reason for blaming HIV, particularly as we don’t know how HIV causes illness?
